In my opinion, I am not really interested in joining a fraternity. I don’t like the initiation thing and their ranking system (neophyte/leader… who’s the boss). But when Sir Vladimir assigned us to know more about this social group and their systems, I changed my thoughts about them, thoughts of like those who are in the frat are always going to fights and all bad stuff. They weren’t bad after all.
Sir Vlad suggested that we go to PUP because he had students there who are members of a fraternity house. We were to go there and interview a fraternity/sorority group named “AKHRO”.
We arrived there at PUP, we met a sister of them named “Bam” at the gate of the school and she helped us on going inside the campus. She escorted us to what they call their “tambayan” and there we met the “sakura” and the others (I forgot their names). Sakura mostly answered all the stuff the needed to know about their group.
She told us that “AKRHO” was founded as one of the official group inside the campus on October 8, 1973. They don’t really want to bully out the school, actually they really want to change what our society thinks about them. They do activities like painting the catwalk of their school and they do annual giving of gifts for the street children during the Christmas period. And by doing this they helped by going good deeds and at the same time they strengthen the closeness of each member. They also strengthen their group by have inuman sessions at some nights. We also asked what initiation really means and why do it for the new ones. She told us that initiation is needed to make the new one give importance to the responsibility that you will take as a future brother/sister of the group.
They have no comment on what our society thinks about them because they know that they didn’t do any crime or bad thing to others. They also find happiness you know, and they told us that happiness given by our family is very different from happiness given by their brotherhood.
And that ended our interview… we said goodbye and thanks to all of them.

On that day after the interview, I have changed my interest about fraternities. All my negative thoughts about them changed. They don’t like war and fights, they just want to do good deeds and find happiness. But still they didn’t convince me in joining theirs or any kind of frat.
I think we should change our negative about them; they are not really bad at all. But I think that you can still find happiness even without a fraternity/sorority. You can find it to your family or when you are with your loved one…
